Frequently Asked Questions

What even is kombucha?

Kombucha is a fermented tea, made with a blend of organic teas and sugar. We add SCOBY (a Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast) to the sweet tea, and the good stuff happens! The natural bacteria in the tea eats the sugar and creates alcohol. The yeast eats the alcohol and creates acetic and gluconic acids, which are beneficial probiotics for gut health. What's left after this process is a low sugar, lightly fermented beverage.

What does kombucha taste like?

Kombucha drinkers are typically fans of fermented beverages (wine, sour beers), so it has the sour notes found in those drinks, with a light sweetness and carbonation. We have flavours to suit every taste!

Is there caffeine in kombucha?

Very little. Like everyone, the SCOBY loves caffeine. It eats the caffeine for energy to ferment the tea, so the end product is equivalent to about half a cup of green tea.
